Uniqueness Of Three-Card Poker
Three-card poker is unique because no matter what you have, if the dealer doesn’t qualify, you’ll still end up ahead on your ante wager. This usually ends up in a push, as most people bet one unit on pairplus, one unit on ante, and one unit on play. If you don’t have at least a pair in your hand, you lose the pairplus, win one unit on ante, and push the play, for a net win of 0.
Therefore, the best way to play is to put one unit on pairplus (the worse of the two bets) and two units on the ante. That way, if the dealer doesn’t qualify (which happens surprisingly often), you lose your pairplus bet but gain two units on your ante for a net win of one unit.
SAY IT WITH ME NOW: “THREE STRIKES AND YOU’RE - ” Outta there, right? If you lose your pairplus, ante, and play bets three timesin a row, you have to get up and go to another table.
MONEY MANAGEMENT
One would think it’d be pretty easy to get at least a pair of Tens, but anyone who has played let it ride knows that it’s actually pretty tough. When you decide to play, try to find a casino that offers the most generous pay table, which is the one shown on page 125. Then scope out a table that looks as if the players are having lots of fun; the dealer’s smiling, the playerss on a positive trend.
With let it ride, the best money strategy is to merely flat bet whether you win or lose. Streaks are an enormous rarity, and considering that you’re dealing with varying bets depending on when you stay or pull back, it’s better just to keep it simple and flat bet. With that being said, you must still absolutely follow the three-strikes rule: Lose three in a row and move to another table, another game, or another casino.
